Online education has become a valuable resource for many stay at home moms or dads, for those who work during the week and can’t make it to school, and for those who have too many commitments to otherwise take time out of the day to pursue an advanced education.  Online education provides a valid opportunity to complete that sought-after degree, or explore that career that you’ve been yearning for since leaving the protected hallways of high school.
There are unlimited possibilities and areas of interest available to the online learner.  Almost all colleges offer an online program and/or classes, ranging from GED completion to masters programs.  In addition, there are “online colleges” that exist solely for the convenience of the long distance learner.
For the student (or potential student) who would prefer to have some face to face instructional time, but still wants to consider online education, many colleges offer hybrid courses.  Hybrid courses are a cross between online classes and in-school instructional time.  The student would have the opportunity to work online, but with the additional structure of the classroom setting.
Online education is now being incorporated in some parts of the United States for high school students who, for whatever reason, cannot continue to attend traditional schooling.  Laptops, printers, books, and other study materials are issued to the student, who then completes assignments online.
If you have the drive to pursue another career (or interest), and have the discipline to study on your own, you can benefit from online education.  Statistics show that  72% of the online education population consider themselves “successful online students”.
While an online education isn’t for everyone, it is a viable substitute for the traditional, all day long, college campus curriculum.  With today’s technology, one can obtain a degree in almost any field, without leaving the comfort of their home or office.
